It's that time of year again: time to start planning our Front Range Pagan Pride Day. We are looking for volunteers to help with all aspects of PPD; planning, making copies, set up, ritual creation, children's booths, food booths, music, workshops and yes...vendors! If you can help on any scale, large or small, please join us.
What: A charitable celebration of religious tolerance and acceptance for Pagans and all faiths which is open to the public and to the media.
1. Food Drive: Attendees are encouraged to bring a non-perishable canned food donation for a local non-profit organization. We seek to share our abundant harvest with those in need.
2. Public Ritual: The cornerstone of Pagan Pride Day is a public religious ceremony so that the community can come together to celebrate the Autumnal Equinox.
3. Workshops: Not only do we seek to educate the public about what paganism is, we also seek to educate ourselves. We will offer several workshops on a variety of topics throughout the day, brining in volunteer presenters and speakers. We
4. Merchant Booths: We will invite local new age and metaphysical stores as well as local groups to set up booths at this event. Many of these booths would sell merchandise.
5. Local Group Tables: We will invite local groups from all over the area to represent their groups and share information about themselves with the community.
The Pagan Pride Project is a national, non-profit organization with the goal of promoting the pagan identity through education, activism, charity, and community. We try to keep our purpose balanced through the inspirations of Air, Fire, Water, and Earth:
. Air: Education
We're never going to be able to practice our spiritual paths openly if we don't give the public accurate information about what we do and do not do.
. Fire: Activism
People aren't necessarily going to go out of their way to find out what Pagans really do. We have to have the courage to act on our convictions and do what we need to do.
. Water: Charity
We know that what we do returns to us. We need to demonstrate this by offering compassion to our communities where it is needed. When we share our own abundance, we show that we trust the Gods to share abundance with us in return.
. Earth: Community
We're never going to be able to practice openly if we don't know anyone else in our local Pagan communities. We need to weave networking webs in our cities, in our towns, in our rural areas. We need these webs to support one another. That support will also show those who would restrict our practice that we are not just a few isolated wackos, but are a growing congregation of people who adhere to a faith that, while different, is as valid as their own.

Now Is The Time....
If you have had an issue at previous events, now is the time to bring it to our attention so we can make sure that actions are taken to prevent it from happening this year if possible. If you think you have ideas to help make the event better, now is the time to jump onto our event mailing list by joining our Yahoo group. We grow and improve through the help and ideas of our volunteers. If you want something a bit different out of your Pagan Pride Day experience, the best way to move towards it is to jump into the planning committee and help make it happen! Now is also a great time to jump on the list if you wish to vend or perform for the event. You'll get the first calls for reservations and talent scouting as they happen!
Please contact Local Coordinator Joy Phelan off-list with any and all questions and concerns. To join the Yahoo group, please send an email to:
